Firm Leadership
Lisa HughesLisa is a co-founder of the firm, and has been an executive recruiter for 20 years. She began her search career specializing in placing finance professionals across a variety of industries. She soon developed expertise in strategy, business development, corporate development, general management and operations.
She has worked extensively on start-ups, middle market companies including the firms that invest in them and Fortune 50 Companies.
Lisa has built a well-respected retained recruiting practice focused on placing C-Level Executives. She has worked extensively with companies experiencing tremendous transition, including high growth, start-up and turnaround situations. In the course of performing this work, Lisa has established long-standing relationships with executives all over the country.
Lisa is a Certified Public Accountant, having worked in the national office of Ernst & Young and in finance at Verizon/GTE.
Lisa is currently a member of the Women's Leadership Council and serves on the Annual M&A Conference Committee for the Association of Corporate Growth. Previously Lisa was a member of the Board of Directors of the Association for Corporate Growth, Los Angeles for six years. She served as the VP of Private Equity, VP Programs, and started the Women and Minority Initiatives. She has worked on several programs in concert with the Toigo Foundation and supports The Alliance, which supports diversity in education.
Marcia Basichis
Marcia is a partner at the firm, specializing in placing finance, operations, and strategy executives in entertainment, technology, manufacturing, and consumer products companies. Marcia has been with the firm since 2004 and has placed numerous senior professionals into entertainment and Fortune 500 companies. She has developed relationships with professionals from investment banks, private equity firms, CPA firms, blue chip companies, top business schools and top consulting firms and placed numerous "C" level executives into the portfolio companies of Private Equity firms.
In 1995 the Hollywood Reporter named Marcia as one of the "Power 50" women in the entertainment industry. As Senior Vice President of Spelling Television, she headed Series, Movies and Miniseries Development, initiating and shepherding groundbreaking television series, including Beverly Hills 90210 and Melrose Place. She was a key member of the team that turned around and helped reestablish Spelling Television as a force in the television industry. She also spent over 7 years as an executive at ABC Entertainment and at CBS Television Network. A member of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, she has served on its Executive and Awards Committees.
Seeing the impact technology was going to have upon the entertainment industry, during the dotcom era Marcia joined a team that launched one of the first live video streaming companies on the Internet. Subsequently she worked to revolutionize business processes in the entertainment industry as Vice President of both a digital rights management and an enterprise software company. She has built numerous strong relationships amongst senior executives in the entertainment and technology sectors.

Marilyn SimcoxMarilyn is a prominent, experienced executive with expertise in organizational development, strategic recruiting of senior executives, and client development for professional services firms through alumni relations programs.
Marilyn was recently the National Director, Alumni Relations for Deloitte. Prior to joining Deloitte, Marilyn was a Partner at Heidrick & Struggles, a leading international executive recruiting firm. She developed business and conducted executive searches in virtually all industries and disciplines. She successfully identified and recruited Chief Executive Officers, Chief Financial Officers, and Chief Operating Officers, as well as other senior executives.
John is currently the Chief Executive Officer of InterDent, a private equity backed dental practice management company. Previously John had a successful tenure at Overhill Farms, a publicly traded food manufacturing company as the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer, increasing the stock price from .38 (2003) to $4.89 (2009).
John spent nearly a decade with The Heico Companies, a large private equity fund that buys bankrupt companies, turns them around, and keeps them in its portfolio. His work experience also includes Mattel Toys and Westfield, an international real estate developer.
John holds an MBA in Finance and International Business from the University of Chicago, and a B.S. in Accounting from Loyola Marymount University. He is also a CPA, having worked in the audit and advisory practice of Deloitte & Touche.
